I enjoyed how she was passionate about what she was lecturing about and how all the in class discussions were guided and how she would let us agree to disagree but in a kindly manner.
The way the class was taught was very well organized. It is clear Professor Petersen has vast knowledge on what she teaches, and I enjoyed the class!
This was a very interesting course for me. I thought about new concepts and my opinion was changed in some concepts as well as I became more educated. The instructor was amazing.
I actually really enjoyed completing the textbook readings for this class. I felt that they really helped me understand the material on a deeper level. I think the workload of this course was very appropriate, and I did like how it was structured as well.
I think the no technology rule in class was actually good. It helped me focus and also a break from my laptop/phone.

This professor is great, she talked to through a very tough time. Also Professor Petersen has been very understanding of my need to miss class in taking care of my grandmother and battle with some mental health things.
Camille Petersen is a strong presenter and clearly loves what is being taught. I love that she keeps her perspective neutral and welcomes all sides of a conversation.
I really enjoyed the teaching style of how we had lecture on Mondays, discussion on Wednesdays, and then applied that knowledge to a quiz on Fridays.
I liked the loose structure of lecture on Monday, discussion on Wednesday, and quiz on Friday, with some exceptions based on the content for that week.
She was very authentic and helpful.
There was a lot of reading but I enjoyed it.
We’d have regular readings and quizzes due every Sunday night. She gave us plenty of time to work on.

The course content was well organized and always surrounded the topics. The workload was never overwhelming and contributed to the content well.
I liked the set up for this course. I enjoyed the discussion days more than the lecture ones. I enjoyed hearing everyone's different opinions on subjects and their experiences with them.

The assignments better helped us understand and conceptualize the course concepts, which served as a study guide for quizzes. The class environment was also encouraging for participation.
Really loved the amount of discussions and how we had a fair amount of small group discussions to go over the concepts, like that it wasn't all just powerpoints and lectures

I really enjoyed how engaging this course was, and how the concepts were made to be very clear. The readings all felt relevant, and yet still covered a wide variety of topics.
I loved taking this class. Dr. Petersen is one of the sweetest, nicest, most engaging professors I have had so far. She honestly gives off the vibe that she truly cares about her students, and she is always eager to hear what we have to say and contribute to discussions.
I think that this course was very informational and not in a boring way. All of the topics that were discussed were very important and were taught in interactive way.
Professor Petersen always generated a fun learning environment in which the whole class felt connected and we could all talk about our ideas without fear of being wrong.

I didn't know what to expect at the beginning of the course, but by the end of the year I found myself really enjoying the class. I really liked the way that assignments were set up found that it encouraged me to look for connections and helped me collaborate with my peers in an effective and easy way.

“In all, this was an excellent class. The students seemed attentive and eager to participate. Professor Petersen was well-prepared for this lecture on gender. She was clear in her explanations, used examples throughout, and encouraged class participation. Professor Petersen also used Powerpoint and media effectively. In fact, I really appreciated how varied she was in her instructional techniques; there was a freewriting session, followed by discussion, then a lecture that was quite interactive, as it combined Powerpoint slides with bulleted points, visuals (cartoons that illustrated gender, a brief video clip, and discussion). Finally, Professor Petersen seems to have good rapport with her students, and this is aided by the fact that she knows all of her students' names.”
